    Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

    This edition is the first ever for sale online, so I made it sound a little better. I only included my original songs because frankly I'm tired of paying for the covers. If you ask really nicely, I might be able to find you an mp3 of said hypothetical cover song laying around somewhere...

It may be quite some time before I pass but darlin there's a favor I may ask... to keep y'all fed, ya know I worked this land, darlin won't y'all understand lay my body shallow beneath the grass {CH}Bury me in the pasture when I'm dead I'll fertilize the grass where the cattle's fed from the dirt to the grass to the cattle to the plate in the milk y'all drank, in the meat y'all ate bury me in the pasture when I'm dead, don't forget what I said, bury me in the pasture when I'm dead My proudest day was when I bought the farm the place that gave y'all shelter from the storm you know that wether live or dead I'd do my all to keep y'all fed do my best to keep y'all safe from harm {CH} I don't quite know just what the future brings I know I'll never have no expensive things you knew that wether dead or alive I'd give my all so y'all survive and when I bite the dust you know I ain't gonna go to hell cuz I done my best to keep y'all live and well {CH}

Ol' Roy 06:11
{CH} Ol' Roy was that city boy who stole my sweetie pie and if you saw us standin there eye to eye you could tell one of us was about to die I had a wife by the name of Mary she was raised right across from my neighboring prairie come rain or shine, she was always pretty still bought her clothes from the god-damned city she'd clean and sing, we'd both do the cookin I'd tell her all day she was mighty fine lookin and I'd hold her tight all through the night but I could tell from her eyes somethin just weren't right well I was workin outside on the family ranch I noticed this note hangin on a branch it said "I met a new man and he treats me right, you can sleep by yourself tonight" I pounded that fencepost into the ground, cursed the names of the folks in town she was my girl and I was her boy till she left me for that fella Ol' Roy {CH} She told me she'd love me for good and I did all that I said I would But she never disclosed her lover's name for fear that one of us would end up slain I walked to town in the pourin rain the cold it wasn't cold enough to ease my pain I wouldn't feel right until I tasted blood staggered forth on through the mud well nobody spoke as I sat at the bar who pulled up in my baby's car? I jumped from my stool, I just couldn't wait he was about to die for touchin my old lady he kissed my Mary right on the face so I reached for the weapon tied around my waste I stuck him in the belly with my granddad's knife said "that's what you get for fuckin my wife" that's what you get for takin my wife {CH} Well the man at the bar done spilt his drink and the barkeeper didn't know what to think so I hid up in the mountains where the land is pretty no I never went back to the god damned city

I'd put your picture on a $10 bill I'd give you dozens of them if it gave you a thrill instead I'm sippin whiskey and avoidin the spills and i'm feelin like a fish just gaspin at the gills but i'd do somethin mighty strange to get somebody got to gimme some change for about a 10 spot I'd play "Away in a Manger" for another 10 I'd bellow out "Home on the Range", but {CH} Money couldn't buy this song, ain't no way they could afford it even though they're workin so long, ain't got enough to record it but you can have a listen on me, little girl imagine every note is worth a diamond and a pearl because I'm feelin so rich since you came along Money Couldn't Buy This Song I tried to rake in every last dollar but I've been shunned by Lady Luck, or whatever you call her too poor to mope, too broke to holler if you lead the way to finances, I'd be sure to follow and I'd dress in a 3 piece suit if anybody out there wants to front the loot meanwhile, my pockets they carry caput and when my vices try to bribe me I just give em the boot {CH} I'd fill your swimming pool full of cash give you a million dollars a day and the rest I'd have to stash I'll add more to the pile, I'll be back in a flash and if you double take it may give you a case of whiplash of course, it might be a touch obscene tryin to dedicate our lives to collecting that green makes me feel kind of dirty, a bit unclean but then again I'm rather tired of TOP Ramen and beans {CH} Eventually I'd love to get us dinero but at this present juncture I've obtained roughly zero don't be shakin baby, there's nothin to fear Ol' Sick 'll make your worries go disappear or I'd do somethin dumb or funny to get somebody got to gimme the money I would stumble through the rubble of economy's crumble call me honey, keep 'em runny with the side up sunny {CH}

how many bodies does it take to build a dam? when the cops decide to count the heads they'll find out where I am at the bottom of a city wishin I had made a plan my home is gone, my heaven's out of reach my buddies ain't breathin, and neither am I my cousin's on the rooftop, she's too desperate to cry she's only 17, with a newborn, and she don't wonder why she knows somebody has been lyin through their teeth I hope my baby mamma's sister gets my kid to Baton Rouge I hope my baby doesn't see me floatin 'round on evenin news hope the saints get here with time to spare, cuz everyone just stops to stare I doubt they're marchin anywhere the delta's dug too deep armageddon was allowed because they outlawed desire when the dead come back to life again, we're comin from the myre holdin picket signs and shoutin someone needs to get fired somebody that's been lyin through their teeth and I hope some sunburnt urbanite gets praised for throwin rocks I hope this show gets overthrown by widows, thugs and cops I hope we take the dead's advice, dry our eyes with beans and rice with every body dyin twice a lifetime full of grief O- wouldn't it be nice to have a swamp in every town it wouldn't seem so shocking when your neighbors up and drowned hand grenades and hurricanes soakin through the ground well it ain't so far off for my belief to think sombody has been lyin through their teeth

I don't want to live forever, I don't want to be a shame I don't want to leave if I'm leaving my name I don't want to be remembered, not by more than a few I don't want to say goodbye to you I don't want to be a burden, I don't want to be a chore I don't want you missing me, that's what I'd abhore I don't want to be a hassle, that's not what I'm here to do and I don't want to say goodbye to you no one I know shall live longer than I Life is much shorter for people who die brevity is beautiful, nothing is more suitable to a friend than a beginning, a middle, and end no one I know shall live longer than me I'll save them a funeral, they'll save me a seat say farewell to family, and watch them die unhappily. Se la Vie. at least I won't be making them watch me don't worry about the future, I'll know what to do don't say goodbye to me, I won't have to say goodby to you I don't wanna live forever, I believe I will pass I don't want to finish first, I prefer dead last no one I know shall live longer than you I'll lay you dow last, then I'll lay own too solitude is certainty, whatever works. when will we be alone, to float forever together to home? no one I know shall live longer than I Life is much shorter for people who die brevity is beautiful, nothing is more suitable to a friend than a beginning, a middle, and

some people sing about murder some people sing about land some people sing mighty lonesome but they sing it in front of a band a band don't have to be many though one is much less than a few don't go lookin for lonesome or lonesome come lookin for you a heartache implies you've had lovers which means you were not on your own but whenever you stand in some hollar you'll know what i mean by alone you could scream if you want, but who'd wanna? then again no one minds when you do don't go lookin for lonesome or lonesome come lookin for you and I drink my wine from night till noon then the sun does shine, come then the moon and I'll fare just fine, till someday soon I'll share what's mine and soften my tune lonesome is an emotion you feel it when you are alone but loneliness ain't lonesome lonesome hits closer to home a rainy day can make you feel lonely what about when skies are blue don't go lookin for lonesome or lonesome come lookin for you i said don't go lookin for lonesome or lonesome come lookin for you

about

This is the first full length album I can call my own, but it wouldn't have been possible without my amazing beautiful talented band, Sick's Pack. All tracks were recorded as single takes, which means no editing. What you hear is what we sound like.
